Drop Ubuntu Jammy, Debian Bookworm and PHP 8.1 support

03.08.2026

As mentioned in our previous blog post, we are dropping support for Ubuntu Jammy, Debian Bookworm and PHP 8.1 with the release of openITCOCKPIT 5.7.0. This means that openITCOCKPIT 5.7.0 will not be available for Ubuntu Jammy, Debian Bookworm and PHP 8.1 users. We recommend upgrading to Ubuntu Noble (24.04) or Debian Trixie (13) to continue receiving updates and support for openITCOCKPIT.

Ubuntu and Debian upgrade instructions

For users who are currently running openITCOCKPIT on Ubuntu Jammy (22.04) or Debian Bookworm (12), we recommend upgrading to Ubuntu Noble (24.04) or Debian Trixie (13) to continue receiving updates and support for openITCOCKPIT. Please see our official upgrade instructions.

Please notice: Changing the PHP version through a third-party repository is not supported and will break the system.

Updating PHP (Enterprise Linux only)

openITCOCKPIT 5.7.0 will require at least PHP 8.3. For this reason, you should check your current PHP version and update it if necessary. You can already update your PHP version to 8.3 on Enterprise Linux (RHEL, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux) using the official repositories.
