openITCOCKPIT Monitoring Agent 3.0.11

This update addresses an issue related to the file permissions of the private key file for the openITCOCKPIT Monitoring Agent on Windows-based systems.

Until now, the private key file, agent.key, was accessible to any user of the system. This issue affected only Windows-based systems because Windows handles file permissions differently from macOS or Linux.

To resolve this problem, we have implemented file permissions using Windows Access Control Lists (ACL).

Newly generated agent.key files will now be readable and writable only by the SYSTEM user and the user currently running the agent.

Important: Secure file permissions will be applied exclusively to newly generated private key files.

How to Update

Please download the new version from the download page. Linux-based systems should receive the update through the distribution’s package manager.
