The Service Capacity Management module has been expanded to include the ability to create Regional Managers. For these managers, it is now possible to receive a cumulative email containing all relevant information about their resources. This new feature simplifies resource management and ensures that key stakeholders stay informed with minimal effort.

openITCOCKPIT Agent - New Features and Improvements 🚀

The openITCOCKPIT agent has been optimized in several areas, now offering enhanced functionalities that improve both security and performance. Here are the key updates in detail:

Selection of TLS Cryptography Options 🔒

Administrators can now choose between various TLS cryptography settings. To avoid operational issues, the default settings have been retained. For modern operating systems like Windows 10 or Ubuntu Xenial, settings can be adjusted to disable insecure encryption methods and achieve a higher level of security. This flexibility allows the agent to be tailored to the security requirements of each infrastructure.

Prometheus Integration as a Reverse Proxy 🔄

Another highlight is the ability to use the openITCOCKPIT agent as a reverse proxy for Prometheus. Configuration is straightforward: Prometheus exporters are listed directly in the agent’s configuration. These can then be queried through the agent, using the same certificate as the agent itself.

This approach offers two major advantages:

- There is no need to open ports for each individual exporter.

- The security architecture is significantly simplified and improved, as all traffic is routed through the agent.

Overhauled Docker Check 🐳

A key focus of the current update is the performance of the Docker check. Previously, each container required about 2 seconds to process. Now, the check takes only 2 seconds for all containers combined. This drastic improvement significantly reduces the agent’s runtime and boosts efficiency, especially in environments with many containers.
